Old Town Partnership of Churches

Home Events About us Officers Archives Magazine

A Special event to mark the close of our Golden Jubilee Year.   We plan to brighten dark December evenings by bringing to a close our

year-long celebrations of 50 years of working together in the longest active Ecumenical Partnership in the UK.

The Christmas Tree Festival will be based at all four of our Churches

Businesses, community groups and schools throughout the parish will place a tree (or trees) at one or more of the Churches and include a suitable greeting or message, to share Christmas joy with our neighbours and fellow citizens, and to promote themselves whilst providing an enjoyable and memorable experience for all visitors.

To encourage creativity and innovation, a tree need not be a conventional tree at all.  It could be made from any material, including paper, cardboard, natural materials, salvaged or re-used items - and in whatever colour or pattern that might catch the eye.

Christmas Tree Festival - opens 1st December 2019

O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
Thy leaves are so unchanging;
Not only green when summer's here,
But also when 'tis cold and drear…………………..

CHRISTMAS TREE FESTIVAL 1- 8th DECEMBER

………………O Christmas Tree! O Christmas Tree!
                        How richly God has decked thee!
                        Thou bidst us true and faithful be,
                        And trust in God unchangingly.
